Daniel W. JohnsonDaniel W Johnson is a personable and tenacious man. He takes a personal interest in his clients and never hesitates to share himself with people. When Dan believes in something, he does not waiver. His clients find him an untiring fighter on their behalf. Dan's forte is large, complex cases. He has handled a number of difficult burn cases, complicated industrial accidents, product liability actions against major manufacturers and the like.

Dan is also an able teacher, teaching both attorneys and staff the quality standards of practice he holds as well as the practical aspects of legal practice.

Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, he and his parents, Orville and Ruth Johnson, were an integral part of Van Nuys First Baptist Church for over twenty years. Dan served on the board of deacons for three years. He is an avid musician and has played the saxophone with the Certain Sounds of First Baptist Church both in the Los Angeles area and around the world.

Dan received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Northridge. While at University of LaVerne Law School, he was appointed the editor-in-chief of the Law Review, law school's highest honor representing outstanding scholastic achievement. Dan received his Juris Doctorate in 1976 and began his practice of law that year.

Shortly after becoming an attorney, Dan interviewed with David Berglund, knowing of him for many years at the First Baptist Church. Dan saw that David combined the practice of law with his Christian principles in a way that was not evident in most of the legal world. With matched values, the team of Berglund & Johnson was born. Dan began to hone his skills in medical-legal issues by attending a number of classes at USC Medical School.

Dan serves on the boards of World Impact, The Oaks and West Valley Christian Academy. He has also served as past board member of Campus After Dark, the Western Center for Law & Religious Freedom, West Hills Baseball, Center for Conflict Resolution, Steve Amerson Music Ministries and has been the president of the Los Angeles Christian Legal Society for two terms. He is a sought-after speaker and has presented a number of seminars on legal issues of churches. After moving to Woodland Hills in 1986, he and his family joined the Church at Rocky Peak where Dan has served on the Board of Deacons. He is also President of DesalNATE Inc., and Executive Vice President of NATE International.

He has been admitted to the United States Federal District Court and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, State Bar of California and the Christian Legal Society. Dan has been asked to serve on the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles board for advancing the education of trial lawyers.

Dan is an avid sportsman, enjoying skiing, SCUBA diving, wind surfing, tennis, golf and fishing. He is a big Dodgers fan as well as a Kings and Lakers supporter. Dan and Beth share an enjoyment of travel, borne from his days ministering with The Certain Sounds.
