Things To Do If I Have An Auto Accident
- STOP - it is illegal to leave the scene of an accident.
- DIAL 911 - if anyone needs urgent medical care.
- CALL THE
POLICE - or Highway Patrol.
- BE CAREFUL
WHAT YOU SAY - don't admit fault or make a statement until you talk to Berglund & Johnson.
- DON'T SIGN
ANYTHING - except a traffic ticket.
- COOPERATE
WITH POLICE - give only facts, not opinions.
- SHOW THE
OTHER DRIVER your driver's license, car license number
and insurance company information.
- TAKE PICTURES of your vehicle and your injuries (preferable not Polaroid).
- SEEK MEDICAL
ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY - you may have injuries you are not aware of.
- REPORT THE
ACCIDENT to the DMV within 10 days (if you are uninsured call Berglund & Johnson first).
- NOTIFY AND
COOPERATE WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY - remember, however, they may not be on your side
now that you have a claim.
- CALL
BERGLUND & JOHNSON to protect your rights; to answer your questions; to have the legal burden
of this accident lifted from you and to
request a 12 Things To Do Brochure to keep handy in your glove compartment.
